What traces of our lives do we keep? Who gets to preserve, name and tell our stories?
CONTRE ARCHIVE is an independent editorial and research series developed by Flèche Lente × Aurevoir Gabriel.
The first issue explores how queer and trans lives have been documented, remembered, classified and sometimes erased.
Through texts, images and archival research, it looks at what remains, what is missing and how stories continue to be passed on.
Rather than offering a definitive history, CONTRE ARCHIVE brings together different lives and traces to question the ways we preserve and transmit our collective memory.
Printed & made in our Paris studio
Every copy is printed, folded, assembled and finished in-house, in small batches.
Because each zine is made by us, slight variations in folding, trimming and binding, as well as subtle traces of the production process, may occur.
These details are part of its handmade character, making each copy slightly different.
